Artificial Grass Buyers Guide

Artificial Grass Buyers Guide

Artificial Grass is something that we all have heard of by now and most of us want to get it installed, however we couldn’t find a good artificial grass buyers guide anywhere. So, we decided to put one together for you!

Besides water restrictions in Cape Town making our lawns look pale and filled with thorns, there are many other benefits to Synthetic Grass, but we will cover that in our next blog post! For now, let us help you figure out how to choose the right kind!

We are going to be looking at things to keep in mind when making a final choice.

Artificial Grass Buyers Guide:

Height

Most people imagine luscious, long, green grass when they think of real grass and it is often what they would want for their homes.

If this is the case you find yourself in, we recommend going for the 30mm Deluxe grass.

Some people might want short and neat cut grass for their complex or business park, and for this we would recommend looking at the 25mm Natural grass 25mm or the 15mm Putting green.

Yes the 15mm is mainly for golf courses, but you always have the option to install it anywhere else too.

Density

When it comes to density, it is more about the quality of the grass than anything else. The higher the density, the higher the quality.

A good quality artificial grass will have a weight of about 3kg per m2.

Colour

Multiple shades of green is always an excellent indicator of good quality artificial grass. Olive green, dark, deep greens and even lime combinations make your grass look as natural as can be.

A single shade of green artificial grass may make your grass appear “fake” or unnatural. To avoid this, look for multi tones of green in your grass such as the 30mm Deluxe grass.

Samples

Most synthetic grass companies will always give you a sample to take home with you. However, these samples can sometimes be extremely small and not of much help.

You can still use them to dissect which ones you like best and once you call someone for a site visit, simply ask them for a bigger sample so that you can have a better judgement of what it will really look like.

There we have it! There might be a few more aspects to keep in mind such as your budget, but these are the basic yet most important rules to keep in mind when buying grass.

We hope our artificial grass buyers guide has shone some light on the topic so that you don’t feel completely lost when you browse our website.
